Dear Guru: My Rotary club wants to support a local effort to provide flu shots for the homeless in our community. How can we use Rotary grants to do this? -Mid-Flight RC
Dear Mid-Flight: Great idea! Start by contacting local health department for guidance. Develop plan for trained personnel to give flu shots and determine cost. Host club fund-raiser to start your project budget. Apply for District Simplified Grant to reach funding goal. Get members involved: they can drive nurses to homeless shelters or escort them to overnight camp. Seek local publicity and project becomes opportunity to recruit medical professionals as Rotarians. -Grants Guru
